The Game

What is Nookmaker?

Nookmaker is a cozy decoration and life-sim game for PC, made by Day Trip Games. You take a small, bare room and make it somewhere you'd actually want to sit: pull in a desk, push a rocking chair towards the window, hang a shelf, and keep adjusting until it clicks.

There is no timer counting down and nothing to fail. Nookmaker is built around the quiet part of decorating: the nudging, the swapping, the standing back to look. Warm lamps, soft shadows and a low-poly world that's easy on the eyes make it something to unwind with rather than something to beat.

The name is literal. A nook is a small, snug corner of a room, and Nookmaker is about making them: one reading chair, one lamp, one shelf of well-placed books at a time.

How It Plays

Four small pleasures

Everything Nookmaker asks of you fits in an evening.

Arrange freely

No grid to fight and no “correct” layout. Slide a chair a few centimetres left because it simply looks better there, and Nookmaker will let you.

Play with light and texture

Swap a wallpaper, warm up a lamp, let the afternoon sun fall across the floorboards. The mood of a room changes more than the furniture does.

Fill it with things you love

Shelves of paperbacks, a half-finished mug, a guitar leaning where you left it. The clutter is the point; it's what makes a nook yours.

No pressure, ever

No timers, no fail states, no score shouting at you. Nookmaker is happy to sit in the background while you fuss over one bookshelf for twenty minutes.
